Bienestar offers organized cultural-language immersion programs in rural Ecuador with medical, social, and environmental projects.
We are a New York based not-for-profit organization and began in 2007 as a group dedicated to exposing students to the disparities of medical care access across the globe and committed to the idea of equal access to quality medical care for the impoverished people of Ecuador. Our objectives include:

Expose students to the challenges of practicing medicine in developing countries

Increase fluency in the Spanish language and cultural understanding of the diverse people of Ecuador

Educate about the growing threats to rainforest ecosystems and educate about sustainable tourism

Fundraise and provide needed goods and services to an impoverished population

| Medical-Spanish Program
A 4 or 5 week program specifically designed for pre-med and medical students of all levels. Students will spend half days at rural hospital sights and half days in Spanish language classes. The program is rounded out by organized weekend activity adventures that showcase the beauty and diversity of Ecuador. For 4th year medical students looking for an international elective, Bienestar offers year round programs that are sure to change your perspective on healthcare and the art of medicine.

| Spanish Immersion Progam
For anyone looking for a true language and cultural immersion experience, we offer 4 or 5 week programs. Participants will learn Spanish in a small classroom setting and personalized groups that focus on interactive learning. You will also learn about the culture and people of Ecuador through volunteering with local foundations. Finally we bring out the inner explorer in you with organized activities and trips around the country.

| Wildlife Conservation Progam
5 week volunteer program for those interested in wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism. Students will begin with a 20 hour Spanish immersion course, followed by 2 weeks of working at an animal rescue center on 250 acres of protected rainforest. You will also have opportunities to work on various research projects in zoology, botany, and ecology. As a reward for all your hard work, you will end with a 2 week adventure tour and explore the marvels of Ecuador's environmentally disinct regions including the icy glaciers of the Andes Moutains and the white sand beaches of the Pacific Coast.
